GlobalPhone acquires Primevoice’s Hosted PBX business.

For Immediate Release, Saturday, November 20, 2010 (Falls Church, Virginia) – GlobalPhone expands its customer base with the acquisition of Primevoice, a division of Virginia BroadBand LLC.

GlobalPhone Corporation, Falls Church VA., (www.gphone.com) announced that it acquired the customer base and product line of PrimeVoice (www.primevoiceonline.com), a division of Virginia Broadband LLC, (VABB), an internet service provider in central Virginia.

Primevoice began selling Voice Services in 2004 and serves several hundred corporate customers with Hosted PBX and SIP Trunk services. VABB’s Board of directors took the strategic decision to focus on its internet business and voted to sell its voice business to a company more dedicated to voice services. Hosted PBX and SIP trunking is the primary business of GlobalPhone. Primevoice management will be actively involved with the transition and will continue to manage PrimeVoice, with no disruption in service. Both companies operate compatible BroadSoft switch technology. VABB will continue to use GlobalPhone services and partner with GlobalPhone to refer customers.

Stephen McCarthy, President of GlobalPhone Corp. praised the agreement, “This agreement allows us to rapidly expand by acquiring an existing customer base of Hosted PBX users. This helps us achieve economies of scale to let us compete effectively on a nationwide basis”.

Mark Davis, PrimeVoice General Manager , stated “We view this as a win-win for both companies and for PrimeVoice customers. VABB can now focus entirely on its rural wireless internet business. We believe that our hosted PBX customers will be able to see service improvements because GlobalPhone is dedicated to providing only voice service”.
