GlobalPhone expands its customer base with the acquisition of General Packet Hosted PBX business

For Immediate Release, Monday, January 3, 2011 (Falls Church, Virginia) – GlobalPhone Corp. announced that it acquired the customer base of General Packet LLC (www.generalpacket.com), of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Stephen McCarthy, President of GlobalPhone Corp. lauded the agreement by saying “We look forward to supporting General Packet’s customers. With this acquisition, GlobalPhone continues to expand its customer base of Hosted PBX users. This helps us achieve economies of scale that will let us compete effectively on a nationwide basis in this evolving market”.

Dennis DiBattista, General Packet President, stated “Our hosted PBX customers will be satisfied with a high level of service because GlobalPhone is has a strong reputation for customer service. This agreement lets us focus on the networking side of our business and frees up some cash for our business expansion. Overall it’s a good situation for both companies.”
